"The first thing that I tell all my students," says Tony Dey, "is that to be a drummer, you have to study until the day you die." Must be good advice, because Tony is still following it himself, and it has helped him become one of the most talented and versatile drummers in California.

The english-born son of a big band musician, Tony learned to swing at a young age. Early in his career, bands such as The Match, International IV and later Linda Ronstadt's Stone Ponies provided ample opportunity for Tony to develop as a pro. Through touring with Ronstadt during the height of her hit "Different Drum," Tony came into contact with Van Morrison.
