Be A Reader
As we go forward, I want to make sure that we understand the musical staff the way most drum books present it in their material. Hi-hat or ride cymbal on the top line; hi tom in the first space; mid tom on the second line; snare on the second space or cross stud (meaning wrapping lute end of stick approximately 4 inches down on snare rim); floor tom on third space; bass drum fourth space; and foot-operated hi-hat below fifth line (this means by itself - no stick on hi-hat). Read every day to be a reader!
